About Me
- Rob Spence Bionic Documentary Maker
- I am a filmmaker who lost an eye so naturally I decided to modify my prosthetic eye into a video camera. I am ~not~ a lifecaster. I will use the eye-cam the same way I use a video camera now - or the same way any filmmaker would use a camera enabled cell phone. I work as a director and producer in Toronto, Canada and I have had my work on Discovery, The CBC (Canadian Broadcast Corporation), Vision, and Space TV. Currently, I am in development on a documentary about how video and humanity intersect escpecially with regards to surveillance. Appropriately, I am retro-fitting my prosthetic eye to become a wireless video camera.

I find this entire documentary a grand statement of surveillance evolution. I believe the move to implant cmos/cctv infrastructure to human nervous system is progression into our new generation of human/cyborg balance. complete mediated control of humans and possible hacking into the nervous system sound like then next step. I look forward to seeing the world literally through your eye.

Of course we're sleepwalking into an Orwellian state. Did you not read the book 1984? He warned us of this, and it's been slowing happening for a while now. He got the year wrong, but it's definitely happening.

I am a paranormal investigator who has undergone an enucleation as well. I would like an "IR eye camera" for my profession, willing to do anything for this possibility. I have written to Rob to no avail. Where can I have this accomplished?

Hello Mr Spence, my names Steve Goldman Nd well the second in saw this video i realized that someone out there had the passion I did to create such a thing. I too have lost my eye due to an accident involving my brother at a young age. I've been fascinated in how I could make something like this and apply it to my real life. I'm hoping that somehow someway I can become a part of this and creating such a thing. I'm 24 years young and truly am astonished with your accomplishment. I look up to you and your beliefs following such tragedy. I have no limitations as to what I can do in life, and I will take that to the grave with me. If I can help this movement and technology evolve in anyway Id be glad to share.
